Ashfield, Part of UDG Healthcare, Celebrates 20 Year Anniversary

CRO CSO outsourcingAshfield, part of UDG Healthcare, a global leader in providing outsourced healthcare services to pharmaceutical, device and biotech companies, celebrates its twentieth anniversary since the company was founded by Chris and Samantha Corbin in 1997.

Ashfield was acquired by UDG Healthcare (formerly, United Drug) in 2000, which gave the organisation the opportunity to grow and acquire 19 companies broadening the existing services and continue to provide an exceptional partnership to the pharmaceutical industry.

Providing international services, Ashfield is now the leading outsourced sales provider in eight countries including the UK, Ireland and Spain and is one of the largest healthcare communications agency groups globally.

Chris Corbin had more than 18 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry working as a medical sales representative, regional business manager and national sales manager before he saw, with his wife Samantha, the opportunity to provide high quality, flexible and cost-effective sales teams to pharmaceutical companies. Since then, the organisation has rapidly grown into a true success story.

Continuously developing the service portfolio from its original contract sales offering, Ashfield supports clients in more than 50 countries and provides a range of services including contract sales teams, customer service reps, medical science liaison officers, remote detailing, nurse educators, medical information, healthcare communications, market access, market research, training, event management, digital, creative and pharmacovigilance services, with more than 6000 employees across 22 countries.

Chris Corbin, Chief Executive Officer at Ashfield, said: “I am extremely proud of the journey that Ashfield has been on since its creation. Today, we provide a wide range of services to the pharmaceutical industry to support them in improving lives by ensuring that healthcare professionals and patients get the medicines, knowledge and support they need.”

“We have acquired and integrated fantastic businesses that have since integrated both Ashfield’s services and culture. Providing an exceptional environment to work in and where people can develop and grow has always been extremely important to me as employees have been and always will be at the centre of our organisation.”
