I Holland’s newly patented XDF (eXtended Dwell Flat) punch has been added to its tooling portfolio to increase dwell time on an existing table press without the need for time-consuming and expensive modifications.
It has been designed to improve press speeds as well as improve tablet compaction and cohesion, which reduces the likelihood for sticking, and increases dwell times by up to 50% compared with a standard punch head. This will be on display alongside samples from I Holland’s PharmaCote treatments and coatings, multi-tip and designer shapes range.
In addition, I Holland will display its latest solution for effective tool management, the IH-TMS Tool Management System, a 21-CFR part 11 compliant system that proactively monitors all tool rotations, tooling inventory and maintenance. It also keeps a complete audit trail and record of tablet quantities by number of tablets, work order or batch information.
The software also has the capability to archive tool images and drawings. It is easy to use and it contains a simple touchscreen interface that indicates to the user if over compression, tooling replacements or scheduled maintenance is needed.
The Versatool Storage cabinet will also be available to view, which enables the effective storage of punches and dies, including die segments, to ensure good tooling management while reducing the amount of press downtime by removing poor storage options. Visit I Holland at Pharmintech in Italy from 13-15 April 2016 in hall 19, stand D37.
