To reduce complexity and to focus on user-friendliness, the GEA IO control generation will now be available for every separator and decanter. Initially launched in 2014 for decanters, GEA IO has been revised and improved for use with  all GEA centrifuges and a wide range of applications.

The development of GEA IO was done with user needs in mind, aiming to keep the control as simple and user-friendly as possible.

Consistently reduced to the essentials, operators are quickly able to understand and handle the control units of the centrifuge. This increases flexibility in production and improves process reliability: the system only displays what the user needs, so the error potential declines automatically.

In addition, GEA IO is able to offer much more than today’s control units and has been tailored to accommodate customer needs. This means that a wide range of functionalities is now available in a much more intuitive manner.

Control, Display and Evaluate
GEA IO has been designed to be as intuitive as possible. Displays have been streamlined, the symbols are self-explanatory and the colour code is based on international standards.

“IO is able not only able to control and display, it can also evaluate and interpret data. With GEA IO, customers are able to see how efficiently the centrifuge is running in relation to energy consumption, performance or separation efficiency,” explained Robert Zeldenrust, Product Group Management Separation at GEA.

IO is also remote enabled, so GEA experts have virtual access to the centrifuges to ensure that they are ready to be deployed again as quickly as possible.

“With GEA IO, the full potential of our centrifuges can be utilized: it’s simple, intuitive, reliable and user-friendly,” Robert Zeldenrust added.
